Bob McAra


Bob qualified as a Solicitor in 1978 and has specialised in divorce and family breakdowns since then, especially high net worth divorces. Bob has dealt with every conceivable family issue including, children who have been taken into care, domestic violence in relation to both men and women, contact and residence disputes, nullity, judicial separation, premarital and cohabitation contracts etc. He also has specialist knowledge in the new area of law, civil partnerships.


Bob has received plaudits both from clients and his fellow lawyers for his sympathetic and pragmatic approach to family law.


Bob is married, having five children, three of whom are now adults and two teenage daughters with Judith.


In his spare time Bob has a keen interest in cooking, travelling and spending time with his family.

Judith McAra


Judith qualified as a Solicitor in 1984, and became a partner at McAras in 1988. In the same year Bob and Judith got married and they have two teenage daughters.


Judith deals with all aspects of family law, specialising in divorce and finances, and issues regarding contact and residence of children. Judith's empathic approach to clients and their problems has helped many thousands of individuals and families over the years.


Judith is a member of the Leeds Law Society and she is also an accredited specialist member of Resolution.


In her spare time Judith enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.


Clare Linden


Clare joined McAras Solicitors in 2008. She graduated from Durham University and completed her legal training at the College of Law in York.


Clare enjoys all aspects of family work, with a particular emphasis on Children problems; both contact issues and where children have been removed into care. Clare Is a member of both the Leeds Law Society and Resolution (formally known as the Solicitors Family Law Association) and takes a constructive non confrontational approach to all family matters.


Clare is an avid traveller when she is not solving clients family problems


Sarah Clarkson





Talvinder Panesar


Talvinder joined in August 2009. She has been a solicitor since 2002. Talvinder deals with all aspects of family law including divorce, financial issues, domestic violence and contact and residence matters.


Talvinder is an Accredited Specialist Member of the Resolution and her areas of expertise are financial and children cases. Talvinder is an experienced negotiator who has a “firm but fair” approach to family law.


Talvinders interests include fine dining, fitness, films and reading. Talvinder is fluent in Punjabi and Urdu. She is married with children.


Sarah Buxton


Sarah joined McAras in 2005 upon her qualification as a Solicitor. Sarah deals with all aspects of Family Law specialising in divorce and finances, property and financial disputes and issues regarding contact and residence of children.


Sarah is a member of both the Leeds Law Society and Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association) and adopts a constructive and non-confrontational approach to all family matters.


Sarah's personal interests include travelling, reading and playing a variety of sports.

Patricia Cannon


Patricia was born in South Africa and qualified as a Solicitor in 2001. Patricia joined McAras in January 2004 following her relocation from Liverpool.


Patricia specialises in all aspects of family law in particular care cases where there is Local Authority involvement, residence and contact disputes, adoption and divorce and financial issues.


Patricia has a well earned reputation for her analytical and down to earth approach, and has helped many families and individuals through this difficult time.


Patricia is a member of the Leeds Law Society and Resolution.


In her spare time Patricia's interests include travelling, playing sport and classic and modern literature. She is also fluent in German, Dutch and Afrikaans. Patricia is married with one child under the age of five.
